A Life Inspired by Service
Bro. Mathew Pannathanath, the visionary founder of Montfort College, began his journey with the Montfort Brothers at the age of 14. Deeply inspired by the life and mission of St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, who dedicated himself to the education and upliftment of the marginalized, Bro. Mathew committed his life to the service of the underprivileged through education.
Academic Pursuits in Psychology
Answering this calling, he pursued a Master’s degree and later a PhD in Counselling Psychology from De La Salle University, Manila.
Leadership in Technical Education
In the 1970s and 1980s, he led several Montfort Technical Institutes across India and Fiji, offering vocational training in engineering and technical trades. It was during his time in Fiji that he experienced a profound inner calling — one that would redirect his path toward mental health and human development.
