Montfort College is unwavering in its commitment to cultivating an inclusive, respectful, and secure academic environment. The institution enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against ragging, teasing, and any form of harassment—whether on or off campus. This policy clearly defines the standards of student conduct and outlines the serious consequences of non-compliance, thereby ensuring that every member of the college community is treated with dignity and respect.
Ragging in any form—verbal, physical, psychological, or otherwise—is strictly forbidden. This includes any act or behaviour that compromises the dignity, safety, or mental well-being of another student. All students are expected to engage with their peers in a manner that upholds the values of mutual respect and academic integrity.
Students found guilty of participating in ragging or teasing will face disciplinary action, which may range from formal warnings to suspension or expulsion, depending on the severity of the offence. All disciplinary measures are determined by the college’s Disciplinary Committee following a thorough review.
Ragging is classified as a cognisable offence under the law and is punishable with imprisonment, as per the directives of the Government of Karnataka. In full compliance with these legal provisions, Montfort College maintains a robust and comprehensive anti-ragging framework.
To address any related concerns, the college has constituted a dedicated Anti-Ragging Committee. Students are encouraged to report grievances either by contacting the committee directly or by writing to: Email:Â [email protected]
