The Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel are a Catholic Religious Order and an integral part of the worldwide Montfortian family founded by St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort in the early 18th century in France. Living in a time of widespread poverty and economic stagnation, St. Montfort chose a life of service to the poor, despite his privileged background. He passionately advocated for their rights, opened schools for underprivileged youth, and worked toward social transformation through education.
The Montfort Brothers have continued this mission globally, with a strong presence in India since 1903. Their work has largely focused on providing quality education, vocational training, and support to the differently-abled, particularly the visually and hearing impaired.
Today, the Montfort Brothers manage over 175 educational and career-oriented institutions across India, promoting values of compassion, justice, and empowerment—especially among the marginalised and rural communities.
